September Events

As a part of our Silver Jubilee Celebration, a regional Choir festival was conducted at our church on Sunday, September 23rd beginning at 4pm. Twelve church choirs participated in this event. His Grace Dr. Gabriel Mar Gregorios (Metropolitan of Trivandrum Diocese, Malankara Orthodox Church) was our chief guest for this joyous occasion, Special gratitude to all the members of the Choir Committee and the Silver Jubilee Committee for all their hard work to make this a grand success.

We celebrated our Harvest festival on Sunday, September 2nd. Members participated in this program by bringing things to be auctioned off and also by taking part in the auction and games. We collected a total of $ 18,100 from this event. Special thanks to the Convener, Mr. Alexander Chandy and the Joint-Convener, Mr. Thomas M. Kunjummen for coordinating this event in an orderly manner.

This year's Choir Sunday was observed on September 9th. Our choir members took an active part in the worship service on this special day.

Our Youth Fellowship members hosted a Praise and Worship on Friday, September 14th at 7:30 pm at the church.

A one-day retreat for our teen youth was conducted on Saturday, September 22nd beginning at 10 am an was led by Dr. Mathew A. Mani. He spoke on the topic, "Walking in the Love of Christ." Twenty-eight people attended this fun and fruitful event.

The Floral Park area prayer meeting was held at the residence of Mrs. Mariamma Philipkutty on Sunday, September 30th.

The regional Fasting & Prayer Meeting was held at the CSI Congregation of Hudson Valley on Saturday, September 15th beginning at 10 am. About fifteen people attended this meeting from our church.

Professor George Koshy (former CSI Synod General Secretary) visited our congregation and attended the worship service on Sunday, September 16th. He delivered the sermon during the worship service.

Our Silver Jubilee Celebration will be held on Saturday, November 3rd beginning at 2:30 pm. The CSI Moderator, Most Rev. Dr. B.P. Sugandhar and our bishop, the Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel are confirmed to be a part of this celebration on this day. All the members of our church are requested to attend this historical ceremony without fail. The program for this celebration will be as follows:

Public Meeting followed by Christian Devotional music by Mr. Binoy Chacko and Ms. Megha Jacob at 4:00 pm

There will be a confirmation service on Sunday, November 4th beginning at 10 am at our church. The service will be conducted by our Bishop the Rt. Rev. Thomas Samuel.

We will be celebrating Youth Fellowship Sunday on Sunday, October 14th. Our Youth Fellowship members will take an active part in the worship service on that day.

The Youth Fellowship will conduct their one-day youth retreat on Saturday, October 13th beginning at 9:30 am at the church.

The monthly Fasting & Prayer Meeting will be held at the church on Saturday, October 20th from 10 am to 12:30 pm. All are requested to attend.

The Long Island area prayer meeting will be held at the residence of Mr. Benny V. Mangalath on Saturday, October 13th att 6:30 pm.

The Women's Fellowship will have their anniversary celebration at the church on Saturday, October 27th beginning at 9:30 am.
